Coaching Teachers

The Growin coaching program will allow newly qualified and newly recruited staff to set clear short term goals with directed guidance from their professional coach. Goals will be scrutinised and tested to ensure they fit in with team and organisational vision and values.

Stage 2 will focus on regular coaching conversations and reflection in order to continually use feedback and support to make gains and improvements. Individuals will display transformational results and accelerated progress allowing them to rapidly establish and improve their practice. New goals will be set as they continue to Grow into their role

This program is primarily based on a directive approach but can be dialogical or facilitative depending on where the teacher is at and what their individual needs are.

The directive coaching approach sees the role of the coach as the expert and the teacher’s role as the apprentice. The teacher needs support in what to do and the coach is the decision maker. The coach plays the expert and is directing the teacher.

The Reachin coaching program will allow staff to introspect with directed guidance from their professional coach on their current practice, strengths and areas for development. With this newly found clarity staff will go through a process of reset where bad habits, self limiting beliefs and anxieties are rationalised and unlearnt. New learning connections are built, allowing Individuals to rediscover clear goals, ambitions and motivations allowing them to develop a focussed action plan to work on in the classroom and in their general teaching practice. Stage 3 will focus on regular coaching conversations and reflection in order to continually use feedback and support to make gains and improvements. Individuals will display transformational results allowing then to reach for new opportunities for further development and success.
